Existing Site Conditions
The Maintenance, Operations, and Transportation (MOT) facilities remain operational but exhibit significant signs of aging and deterioration across multiple buildings and site components. Several structures display compromised exterior finishes, roof wear, and weathered building envelopes. Interior spaces are marked by outdated or damaged finishes and inconsistent lighting quality, impacting overall functionality.
While mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems are currently functional, many components are nearing or have surpassed their expected service life, increasing the risk of future failures. Site conditions, including pavement, drainage systems, and yard areas are in poor condition, with uneven surfaces and sections requiring repair or full replacement.
A recent modernization project at the transportation offices improved interior finishes and introduced a new restroom building, representing a positive step toward facility upgrades. However, these improvements are limited in scope.
To ensure long-term operational efficiency and compliance with current standards, substantial investment is required to modernize building systems, upgrade interior and exterior finishes, and address critical site infrastructure deficiencies.
Immediate Needs (0-5 Years)
-
Address roof wear and replace compromised roofing systems.
-
Resurface pavement and repair drainage systems to eliminate uneven surfaces and pooling.
Long Term Needs (5-10 Years)
-
Expand or reorganize spaces to support maintenance and transportation operations more effectively.
-
Reconfigure yard areas for improved circulation and operational efficiency.
-
Replace old buildings.
-
Upgrade accessible routes and parking to meet current ADA standards.
Community Engagement Feedback
Mental Health and Social Emotional Needs
If one improvement could be made to help support student mental health and wellness, what would it be?
“I believe the wellness programs are out in a portable. It would be nice to have it more centrally located and in a permanent room rather than a portable.”
